sempre dietro
In Italian Sempre Dietro means “always behind.”
In Italy, and at Persephone’s Ball, the destination is always behind or around something else. When your roads were built by ancient civilizations, there aren’t very many direct routes to where you want to go.
We’ve run out of packaging and we need to buy new balm ingredients.
We were planning on buying more supplies from this past week’s sales. Squarespace payments, however, decided to put a hold on depositing our money for 17-days.
We’re putting a pause on website sales until their hold is over.
But this also gives us an opportunity to see what'‘s in the road super up close.
Maybe it’s time to revisit the tins we’ve been using. They crumple like wildflowers at a daycare. It’s annoying to send out dented tins. Maybe we need to play with the ingredients that we have. This will be a pregnant pause in business.
Persephone’s Ball has never travelled a modern highway. It’s primal stuff made for primal moments.
So while our destination is clear (we sold out of available product within 24 hours of pre-launch) our path to that place is full of stuff to (re)visit.
Including our future with Squarespace.
